Meet Ralfy - or 'Tatty' Bat as he likes to be known!

Holy Trinity Church isn't just a place for people, it's the UK's richest bat home with over seven species, including over 1,000 tiny soprano pipistrelles!

Ralfy, or 'Tatty Bat' as he likes to be known, was named after the person who had Holy Trinity Church built back in 1465, Ralph Cromwell, the 3rd Baron Cromwell. Ralph wasn't related to Oliver Cromwell.

Ralfy has many friends! Don't worry, they like to sleep in the daytime, but during the year we try to hold events so you can come and see Ralfy and his mates, working with the Bats In Churches Project and Bat Conservation Trust.

When the bats come out to play at night, they can leave our church a little dirty, as they haven't been trained to use the toilets! We work hard to keep our church clean, but it means we have to cover up some things to keep them safe.
