Baptisms, weddings and funerals

Baptisms (also known as christenings)

We welcome anyone who lives in the parish of Huyton or attends our services regularly to bring their child to be baptised. Baptism services are normally held in our main Sunday service on the third Sunday of the month. (However, to manage numbers following the pandemic baptism services are being held separately at 12.30pm). The first step is to contact our Parish Administrator, Angela, who will check that you are eligible and book your christening. You will then be invited to come to a service and attend a baptism preparation session.

Please use the enquiry form on the Get in Touch page of this site or contact Angela at [email protected]

If you are interested in being baptised as an adult please contact us at [email protected]

Find out more about Christenings on the Church of England website.

Weddings

We are delighted to welcome couples who wish to marry in St Michael’s. To get married here you must have a connection with the church. Normally this means that you will live in the parish or that you attend the church. However, there are some other connections that may mean you can get married here. You can find out more and check which parish you live in here.

To find out more about getting married in St Michael’s and for a list of our fees please contact our parish  office at [email protected]  or use the enquiry form on the Get in Touch page of this site

Funerals

We welcome all who wish to mark their loved one’s life with a funeral in church. This will normally be followed by a short service of committal at the crematorium or cemetery. Alternatively, we can take the whole service at the crematorium or cemetery. Your funeral director will make the necessary arrangements with us. We will then get in touch to help you plan the service and make it personal to your loved one.

For more information contact our office at [email protected] Or use the enquiry form on the Get in Touch page of this site

Please note that St Michael’s Cemetery is now closed to burials.
