Based on the award winning movie, Chocolat, starring Johnny Depp and Juliet Binoche, which is about a young woman who opens an unusual chocolate shop.
Using segments from the film & in the power of a story telling, including Scripture, we will look at five areas of faith, both personal, and that of the church today.

Starting on Thursday, 26th February 1pm for five weeks, in the Choir vestry.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is the first Day of Holy Week. It is when Christians remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. It is called Palm Sunday because the people were so happy to see Jesus and knew that he was very important, so they took branches from the Palm and Olive Trees that lined the road. They waved them in the air shouting 'Hosanna' (which means 'God Saves' in Hebrew) and put some of them on the road to make it easier for the donkey to walk on the rocky road.

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. This will be a service of Holy Communion.

Easter Day is the most important day of the year for Christians. It is when we celebrate that three days after being killed, Jesus rose from the dead -'the Resurrection'. Please join us for our service of Holy Communion. Please note: There is a fairly flat access to the altar area. Communion can be brought to your pew if requested. Hearing loop is installed. Hot drinks will be served after the service.

Easter Bank Holiday - Church Open Afternoon

The church will be open from 12.pm until 4pm. There will be a cafe selling tea and coffee and a gift stall. You are welcome to just come and wander around our beautiful church. There will be help available re family graveyard enquiries and the history of the church.
Between 12pm and 3pm, Sefton Bell Ringers will generously give their time to allow people to try bell ringing! Please note: Minimum age to ring is 10 or 11 and you need to be able to take instructions and count to 8. Or you could come and try handbell ringing.
There are some mobility restrictions in the church. Disabled access to the church is via the lych gate on Bridges Lane. Please note there are no fully disabled toilets.
