We will be holding a special service of Holy Communion on Sunday 29th as we will be celebrating 855 years of St Helen’s Church being a place of worship. Please note that on this date, St Oswald's Church will be closed. After the service we will be having refreshments.

We meet every Monday except for Bank Holidays and the Christmas and New Year period to tidy up the church and graveyard and do other simple tasks.
If you feel able to help our group of volunteers, we would be very grateful. After our hard work we always enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits together and a good chat!

90% of the world’s food, fuel, raw materials and manufactured goods are transported by sea. Most of the things we use every day arrive by ships, operated and maintained by skilled seafarers. Without seafarers, global trade would come to a standstill and it is because of these skilled brave men and women that businesses around the world thrive
On Sea Sunday, please remember the contribution that seafarers make to your daily lives, and the Mission to Seafarers that supports them. Our collection will be for this charity.

THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO TRY BELL RINGING WITH GUIDANCE FROM OUR SEFTON BELL RINGERS. Please note: Minimum age to ring is 10 or 11 need to be able to take instructions and count to 8.

After our celebration service for Harvest we shall join together with a “bring and share” buffet. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Join us at this poignant service to remember those who lost their lives to protect ours.

This service will take place in church after a brief service at the Memorial on Bridges Lane.

Our Fayre will be open from 10.30am to 2.30pm with numerous stalls, bbq, hot drinks, etc. Father Christmas will also be present for children to have their photos taken with him between 11am and 12pm and 1pm and 2pm.
There are some mobility restrictions in the church. Disabled access to the church is via the lych gate on Bridges Lane. Please note there are no disabled toilets.

At the heart of the service is an opportunity to remember our loved ones who have died. Their names can be read out in the service and a flickering candle can be held in their memory.
