It is a traditional English celebration of the beginning of the agricultural year that has seen some revival over recent years. Plough Sunday celebrations involve a plough being the central focus in church with prayers being said for the blessing of the land. It is traditionally held on the Sunday after Epiphany.
All are welcome to join us.

We meet every Monday except for Bank Holidays and the Christmas and New Year period to tidy up the church and graveyard and do other simple tasks.
If you feel able to help our group of volunteers, we would be very grateful. After our hard work we always enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits together and a good chat!

Please do join us: bring a team! Enjoy the fun, have a meal and there is a small prize for the winning team. Please bring your own drinks. We look forward to seeing you. Tickets are £5.00 (which includes a delicious supper) are to be purchased by Sunday 11th January.

Please note: There is a fairly flat access to the altar area. Communion can be brought to your pew if requested. Hearing loop is installed.

Why not bring your own choice of needlework and join our relaxed `Craft and Chat` group.
This will be held every week on a Wednesday evening from 7pm until 8.30pm in the Vestry - access via the rear door nearest to the car park. There will be no charge.

Are you looking for a different type of church service? Maybe a service which is not on a Sunday morning?

Our Saturday Service aims to reach those people of all ages who might not feel comfortable in a traditional church environment and offers a more relaxed approach to worship and fellowship.

So why not come and join our informal, friendly group where we sit around tables and have an opportunity to chat, have refreshments with prayer and music.

The dates for our next services- which are always monthly on a Saturday at 11am will be advertised on this website and Facebook page. We hope to see you there.
In the winter months access is via the rear church door nearest to the carpark.

Join us for a service of Holy Communion marking the start of Lent, the Christian period of fasting, prayer, and reflection leading up to Easter. On this day, many Christians receive ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross, symbolizing mortality and repentance.

We welcome any willing volunteers to join us for the annual Church Clean Up day. Help is also needed in the churchyard to pick up leaves etc! We always make time for a cup of coffee/tea and a chat!

Please join us for our special Mothering Sunday service which always takes place on the fourth Sunday of Lent. The service dates back hundreds of years when traditionally it was a day when children, mainly daughters, who had gone to work as domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother and family and to return to their home or ‘mother’ church. It is a day when we thank God for the love of our mothers, and we thank them in person for their care for us. A small posy of daffodils will be presented to members of the congregation. We are aware of those for whom Mothering Sunday is a painful time and include them in our prayers.

Palm Sunday is the first Day of Holy Week. It is when Christians remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. It is called Palm Sunday because the people were so happy to see Jesus and knew that he was very important, so they took branches from the Palm and Olive Trees that lined the road. They waved them in the air shouting 'Hosanna' (which means 'God Saves' in Hebrew) and put some of them on the road to make it easier for the donkey to walk on the rocky road.

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. This will be a service of Holy Communion.

On this day we commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of Jesus Christ.

The church is open for prayer and quiet contemplation.

Easter Day is the most important day of the year for Christians. It is when we celebrate that three days after being killed, Jesus rose from the dead -'the Resurrection'. Please join us for our service of Holy Communion. Please note: There is a fairly flat access to the altar area. Communion can be brought to your pew if requested. Hearing loop is installed.

The church will be open from 12.pm until 4pm. There will be a cafe selling tea and coffee and a gift stall. You are welcome to just come and wander around our beautiful church. There will be help available re family graveyard enquiries and the history of the church. There are some mobility restrictions in the church. Disabled access to the church is via the lych gate on Bridges Lane. Please note there are no fully disabled toilets.

We are delighted to welcome you again to another fun evening of entertainment by the MADUkes (Maghull and District Ukulele Band). All proceeds are towards our church funds and there will be a raffle on the night. In the interval there will be a burger BBQ - included in the ticket price. Please bring your own drinks. Tickets will be available in April May and June.

Our Sefton Bell Ringers will generously give their time to allow people to try bell ringing! Please note: Minimum age to ring is 10 or 11 and you need to be able to take instructions and count to 8.
