- Venue

- Address Rosemary Lane Formby, L37 3HA, United Kingdom
On Saturday 9th May we plan to “Beat the Bounds” by walking part of our parish. We plan to meet outside St Stephen’s Church in Hightown at 9.15 and from there walk back to Formby on the path beside the railway. We will stop for coffee for about half an hour at Bill’s Field (off Ravenmeols Lane).
The second leg of the walk will take us from Bill’s Field at 11.30 through Little Altcar and Pinewood Park, across the bypass and along the New Causeway to St Michael’s church in Great Altcar where will stop for a picnic lunch.
The third leg of the walk will start from church at about 2pm and take us on a circular walk over the fields and back to church.
We warmly invite members from both St Michael’s and Holy Trinity to join us in celebrating Rogation. Anyone who would like to join us on one or more sections of the walk would be most welcome. Or you could just meet us at Bill’s Field or St Michael’s church.
Celebrations will continue Rogation Sunday, 10th May, with a service at 9.30am where we will offer prayers for the land and our farmers. Church will be open in the afternoon and there will be afternoon tea before the traditional evensong service at 4pm
