A message for Holy Week

Easter From_the_Vicar

'Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.' (Luke 19:38)

I trust this finds you well at the beginning of Holy Week.

Some of us have been through tough times recently; others of us are keenly aware of the turmoil many are experiencing around the world. What comfort we can know as we contemplate all that was achieved through the suffering servant King embracing his journey to the cross. How wonderful that one day the ‘peace in heaven’ we Christians already experience through the knowledge of sins forgiven, will be fully enjoyed in a new creation - no more wars, or pestilence, no more disappointments and death.

Please join me in praying that all of us connected to St Michael’s will come to appreciate ever more deeply the unsearchable riches of God’s grace to us in and through the death and resurrection of the Prince of Peace, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I very much look forward to seeing many you before too long, not least once we are back up and running with a new term of 6pm Monday Evensong, starting on 9 May.

In the meantime our Monday lunchtime organ recitals continue, online on Easter Monday (18 April) - join from 12.45pm - and in-person otherwise.

Warmest best wishes,

Henry
