St James' Islington

St James’ Church, Islington is an inclusive and welcoming catholic parish Church within the Church of England

St James' has stood as a beacon to God's love to this part of Islington for 150 years. The church is open every day of the week offering a much loved space of reflection and community in the midst of our busy city.

On Sundays we have a quiet said mass at 8am and a parish mass at 10am where there is a dedicated space for children with activities.

We also have a Wednesday mass, a Monday toddler group, fortnightly silent prayer, Saturday family craft mornings, and bimonthly Evensong as well as services and events throughout the year.

Safeguarding

Our parish of St James Prebend Street is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of London’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Hilary Roden [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Jo Bingham [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
