Our new Church Cat, Matty (Mattins) came to live at St Philips in late May 2026.

We held a competition to find his name, and out of the many, (many, many names suggested), we came up with a shortlist of 5 names : Canticle, Claxton, Leo, Mattins, Stratford and Tallis. Mattins (Matty for short) was the name picked - mainly for the 'M' on his forehead ( but Mattins also means morning prayer).

You can come and visit Matty in Church - sit on one of the blue chairs and call his name - he is very friendly!
