Getting here

Monken Hadley is where Greater London meets the rolling fields of Hertfordshire. The parish extends from Barnet High Street to the far end of Hadley Common. Situated near the village green, historic almshouses, three duck ponds and the white Common toll gates, our mediaeval parish church is a popular stop on the London loop. Church House, a separate building in which we run our children's group, with its attractive garden is a well-loved venue for birthday parties and other occasions. Our small and friendly church school is also adjacent to the Common and very popular.

The church has a strong musical tradition and continues to use the Book of Common Prayer for early morning and evening Sunday services. The main service at 10.30am uses contemporary liturgy. Once a month children and adults of all ages stay together in the service, on other Sundays children are given an opportunity to meet separately for the middle part of the service. In addition, toddlers and young children (with their parents) are regularly invited to experience the church building for half an hour on a Sunday afternoon in a relaxed and fun way.

We are keen to be a church for the whole community. Most worshippers live less than three miles away from the church but we also welcome a few people from further afield who love the relaxed use of sung liturgy typical of Hadley Church.
