Our main service is Sunday Holy Communion at 10.30, every Sunday of the year, with a choir and a fine organ. At 6.30 we say Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer, and on the third Sunday of the month Holy Communion according to the Prayer Book. Alongside these we keep the daily office in church: Morning Prayer on Monday, Thursday and Friday at 9, and Evening Prayer on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7. Everyone is welcome at all of them.

Sunday Holy Communion

Venue
St Mary the Virgin, Monken Hadley
Address
Hadley Green Road, Monken Hadley, Barnet, EN5 5PZ, United Kingdom

Our main service, every Sunday of the year. We celebrate Holy Communion in modern language, with hymns and singing led by our choir and a fine organ. Everyone is welcome to come forward, to receive communion or a blessing.

Though the language is modern, the shape, cadence and theology are those of the Book of Common Prayer.

In term time the children go out partway through for their own group. On the third Sunday of the month we all stay in together for a shorter all-age service, still Holy Communion, shaped so that children can follow it. Children are welcome at everything we do and nobody minds the noise.

Coffee follows, and there is no pressure to do or say anything.

Occasionally we keep a special feast or festival, so do check our church calendar.
