Public worship starting again

We are reopening the church again for public worship following the end of the current lockdown period in England on Wednesday 2nd December 2020. This means our first service will be on Thursday 3rd December 2020 at 7.30pm, and will be followed by our first Sunday service on 6th December 2020 at 10am. We will be following the same guidelines we laid out when we started back in July, which are on our website and outlined in the message below which was circulated when we first restarted public worship.

We are pleased to announce that we will be open again for public worship with a celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday, 5th July, at our normal time of 10am.

We begin our re-opening cautiously, with a shorter service than normal, using recorded music and with a set of measures to make our service as safe as possible for all who come. A copy of our detailed plan and risk assessment has been published on our website (below this message).

For those who do not wish to join us in person at the moment, we are preparing our usual podcast recording which will be available to download or stream from the website.

There is a copy of the service leaflet on our website and also a second leaflet with guidance (below) as to what you can do to minimise risk for you and for others who attend. Please take a moment to read the guidance before you come. Both leaflets will be available in church, but if you wish you can download them onto a smartphone or ipad and bring them with you.

We have set a maximum number of people we can accommodate with physical distancing of 70. We don’t expect to hit this in these first few weeks, but if we do then we may have to turn people away. We may increase this limit with experience.

I hope and pray that we will find our way through this uncertain time of re-opening together, adjusting at different times but as one worshipping community.
