On Sunday 21st May we celebrate our 388th anniversary and we are making this a gift day for the church The parish has changed a great deal over the years and so has our building and our congregation, and we are still committed to serving the needs of this community. We are asking you to think about whether you can support us financially or increase your support. We are, along with everyone else, facing big financial challenges as prices for everything have been going up, especially the price of heating and electricity, which we currently are incurring costs in the region of £1,000 a month. We also want to invest in our building so we can better serve our community. You can see more information about this here: https://sacredtrinity.org.uk/renewing-our-building/The population we serve has grown from a couple of hundred people 20 years ago to nearly 10,000 today and when the current properties being built in the area are finished our population will be close to 15,000. We have enthusiasm for our building project from a range of stakeholders. We have an historic trust (the Booth Trustees) that has an obligation to maintain the ministry of Sacred Trinity and we believe that they will make a substantial contribution to the final plan if we get it right. We are currently home to a Community Choir, a Talk English group, A Place of Welcome, A Samba group, A Community Photography Group, Manchester Migrant Solidarity Group, an Alcoholics Anonymous group, Bellringers and a growing faith community. We have recently started hosting a support group for Hong Kongers who have moved to the area and we are a venue for live music and exhibitions. You can support us with a one-off donation for general funds, a one-off donation to our building fund or by setting up (or increasing) a regular payment. Our bank account details are:Account Name: Sacred Trinity PCCSort Code: 08-92-99Account No: 65201608If making a one-off donation please let us know if it is “Gift Day – General” or “Gift Day – Building Donation” in the reference. If you are able to donate with Gift Aid please let us know. Gift Aid helps us by adding money from the Inland Revenue if you are a tax payer. We have gift aid envelopes & also have gift boxes available if you think that saving loose change at home will work for you. Of course, we don’t want anyone to feel pressured to give more than they can and all support, of whatever kind is gratefully received. We are always grateful for gifts of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. We are grateful for people volunteering in a variety of roles. We have been serving this community for 388 years and with your support we can continue to do so.In love and peaceRev Canon Andy Salmon

God has blessed us with God’s bounty in innumerable ways. We receive all we need to live through creation. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, and the shelter we live in are all traced back to it. While we all benefit from the harvest God provides for us, we as humans often fail to be good stewards. Not only do we fall short when it comes to looking after our planet, but we also do not distribute the fruits of creation in just or equitable ways. For this reason, there are people in need in our communities. The Sacred Trinty community is spending part of this Harvest Festival considering how we can better help the people in our area who have been affected by society’s inability to fairly share its resources. We are having our annual collection for the homeless, and any donation you can make will go a long way in helping others. Please think about bringing in donations from the following groups: food & drink, clothing, and toiletries. “Food & Drink” includes fresh food (such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, milk, and bread), porridge oats, sugar, biscuits, supermarket vouchers, mugs/cups, tea, coffee, and juice. Next, “clothing” includes new underwear, new socks, small backpacks, hats, gloves, and scarves. Finally, “toiletries” are deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, moisturising lotion, face cream, razors, and shaving foam. For a more complete list, please use this link. All of the donations we gather will go to the Booth Centre to be distributed to the homeless.
We want to pray for our parish, for the people living in our parish, for the people working in our parish, for the people who care for our parish or have an impact on our parish. We also want to pray for our friends and partners in neighbouring churches and the big organisations in Salford such as the university, the hospital and the council. We put this prayer diary in our weekly notice sheet, but you can also use this list to help you pray for the different people and places in and around our parish through each month. 1.
