St Matthew's Church is friendly and welcoming with links to St Matthew's Primary school on Poplar Road.
We have a BSL interpreter once a month at the 10am service and hold quarterly Deaf/hearing services.
Once a month, on our 3rd Sunday, we have a more informal Eucharist and we use power-point on a large screen.
We have an enthusiastic team of bell-ringers always on the lookout for new members and have a reputation for serving excellent home-made cakes at our coffee mornings and other events.
J-Club for the children rejoin the 10am service for the Eucharist and to tell us what they have been learning about. There is also a youth group for older children, which meets monthly.
Refreshments are served after the service at the back of church.
"The parish of Stretford: St Matthew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
