Edenfield Parish Church

If you are you thinking of coming to church for the first time, or the first time in a long time, you will be very welcome!

We are a Church at the heart of community. Edenfield Parish Church has been a fixture of the village since somewhere in the 1600s and we are just as committed to being the Body of Christ in Edenfield today as we ever have been.

Our worship is at the more traditional end of the scale, and we meet every week at 9.30am. The first and third weeks are Holy Communion, with the second week being our Family Service, and the fourth being Morning Prayer. We also have a short service of Morning Prayer every Sunday at 8am.

Whether you’ve been here a hundred times before or whether it’s your very first visit, you’ll find as warm a welcome as you could hope to find. We welcome regular worshippers from 1-100 (or almost, anyway!) and there’s always room for more.

We have good links with our local school, and you’ll always find us getting involved with anything going on in the village, from the Christmas Fair at school to the Summer Fete in the village to Carols Around the Tree in our church yard each Christmas.

Our wardens are Mark Studholme and Wayne Merridew who are normally to be found at our services, and will be very pleased to welcome you.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Edenfield is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Team Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Team safeguarding officer on [email protected], or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor: Abby Clephane - Wilson on [email protected]

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services
