WAVE OF LIGHT - Baby Loss Awareness Week 2026

Occurring
for 30 mins
Venue
Saint Benedict's Parish Church, Blyth (North West)
Address
Brierley Road/Devonworth Place Cowpen Blyth, NE24 5AU, United Kingdom

The Wave of Light is the culmination of Bay Loss Awareness week. Saint Benedict is proud to be opening it's doors again this year to offer a place of stillness, peace and quiet reflection. Take time out to pop along, just as you are on Thursday 15th at 7pm. Candles will be provided, but you are most welcome to bring your own should you wish to.

As their website says, Baby Loss Awareness Week is a week for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together to remember and commemorate our much-loved and missed babies. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss; the importance that bereavement support plays in the ongoing bereavement journey; and of the vital work that is needed to improve pregnancy outcomes and to save babies’ lives.

Safeguarding

"Our Parish of Cowpen St. Benedict is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [add their details here or use the button to link to a page that shows the info] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Jennifer Atkinson - see contact information. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
