Reflections for Mothering Sunday

Sadly we are not permitted to gather together in these strange times as the story of Corona virus unfolds.

We pray for all families caught up in illness, suffering, fear and isolation.

We pray especially for Steve and Melanie and their family, that they may be held in the depth of God's Love at this time.

We pray for all mothers across the world who love and care for their children; for all those who are anxious for their children.

We pray for our own mothers, many of whom we love but we see them no longer. We give thanks for all the many gifts they have given us over the years.

Jesus was loved and cared for by his mother at the start of his earthly life. Jesus cared for his own mother at the very end of his life, turning her life from sadness into a new and living way.

As we travel through the valley of the shadow of death may we be deeply strengthened by the parental presence of God with us.

May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Love of God and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen
