In September we're hosting a traditional Choral Evensong for the whole parish, with a choir providing music including hymns, an anthem, and sung responses. Come and join us singing favourite hymns, and hear why they've been chosen. Sunday 11 October, 4.00pmAll Souls is an occasion to remember and give thanks for those we love who have died. There will be a quiet service of music, readings and prayers, and the opportunity to light candles in memory of those we have lost, whether recently or long ago. Followed by refereshments and a time to talk.Sunday 1 November, 4.00pmNovember sees the annual Remembrance commemorations. We are joined by members of Wideopen ATC Squadron for a special morning service of Holy Communion (at the earlier time of 9.45am), followed by a parade to the War memorial in Seaton Burn and the traditional Act of Remembrance. November 2025 was full of activity at St Columba's. On 6th our new Team Vicar, Ruth, was licensed by Bishop Mark. Just 3 days later we welcomed the Air Cadets to our Remembrance Sunday service, before the annual Act of Remembrance at Seaton Burn War Memorial. Bishop Mark was back again on 23rd as St Columba's hosted the annual patronal service for the Christ the King Team Ministry, at which seven people were confirmed. The month ended with our Christmas Market on 29th, and finally the start of the new church year on Advent Sunday.There'll be plenty happening in December, too, as we prepare to celebrate Christmas, so do keep an eye on our Events page; we'd be delighted to welcome you to any of our events and services.
