Getting here

By public transport

The closest metro stop to St Peter's Church is Hadrian Road on the Yellow (St James / South Shields) line. Exit the metro station towards South Terrace. When you reach the end of South Terrace, St Peter's is in front of you. To find the main entrance, turn left onto North Terrace, then on the corner right onto Church Bank.

There are also several bus stops in the vicinity of the church: St Peter's Road - School (664, indiGo 40), Church Bank (22, 392, Blue Arrow 11, Coaster 1 & 1A, S677, indiGo 40, 42, 42A). 

By car

From the Coast Road: From the direction of Newcastle City Centre: Exit the Coast Road when you see signs for Battle Hill. Enter the roundabout and make a U-turn (take the fourth exit), and follow St Peter's Road until you reach the intersection with Church Bank near Burnside School and the Leisure Centre. St Peter's church will be in front of you.

From the direction of the Coast, exit the Coast Road when you see signs for Holy Cross / Hadrian Leisure Centre. Stay on St Peter's Road until you reach the intersection with Church Bank near Burnside School and the Leisure Centre. St Peter's church will be in front of you.

From the Tyne Tunnel (TT2): Coming from the South Bank of the Tyne, as you come through the tunnel and arrive at the Northbound Toll, use lanes 7 or 8 to go through the toll booths. At the roundabout follow signs for Wallsend / Segedunum, and stay on the A187. St Peter's Church will be on your left shortly after having passed The Rose Inn.
