St Cuthbert Parish Church

Welcome to St. Cuthbert's Parish Church Amble.

Amble: a friendly community

The North East is a friendly and welcoming region, and you will find our congregation to be no exception. Amble is a small coastal town of about 6,500 inhabitants. It has a strong community feel and a background in fishing and mining. The deep mines are all gone, but a small fishing fleet remains and Amble is finding a new way forward as a centre for tourists on the north Northumberland coast. In the summer we welcome many visitors to the town and to our church. St Cuthbert's  is an open and inclusive church seeking to share the good news of Jesus Christ and bring God's love and healing to the community.

Click here for our services and events (or see ‘Services and Events’ in the menu) or simply  drop into the church at any time for quiet reflection or prayer and have a look around. There is a table where you can leave your prayer requests. We are usually open until 4pm

Safeguarding

“The parish of Amble is committed to the flourishing and well being of all and this includes safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. As part of this commitment we encourage a culture of care and mutual support.

In addition we follow a ‘Safe Recruiting Policy’ taking note of the Church of England’s House of Bishops guidance and policies so we can be as confident as possible of the integrity of everyone in leadership and service roles in the church.

The church has its own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The parish is part of the Diocese of Newcastle and the diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. (See below for contact details.)
