St Michael & All Angels

A warm welcome awaits you at St Michael's.

Welcome to St Michael and All Angel’s - whether you are just looking, visiting the area, returning to church or finding a new place to be, welcome!

We are the parish church for Felton, Swarland and surrounding villages, and have a growing church family of all ages. We are people who enjoy coming together to serve God and the local community, both inside and outside our beautiful church building. Our worship services provide traditional and modern styles of worship (see details in the ‘services’ section’). Children and young people join us for the first part of our morning worship service and then move to Junior Church activities in the community room or outside in the beautiful church grounds, weather permitting. We value and encourage our children and young people to take an active part in church life. Occasional All-together worship allows for the whole church family to come together on a Sunday morning with a range of accessible worship, teaching and activities designed to help us worship and share fellowship together as the whole family of God. Fellowship continues after the 11.00am service with coffee and opportunities to chat, support and further build friendships.

We also meet together during the week for friendship, prayer and bible study. There are two ‘Courageous Women’ groups meeting for bible study, prayer and fellowship.  ‘Coffee Plus’ meets on a Thursday morning and members enjoy coffee, cake, bible study and social time.

Men have opportunity to meet with other at a monthly meeting of Christian Vision for Men held at the Anglers Arms on the last Saturday in the month. Cooked breakfast is followed by a Christian speaker and chance for discussion. The topics are many and varied.

We have a heart for building relationships and a deep sense of community in Felton and the surrounding villages. The church family at St Michael’s is committed to showing Jesus’ love in practical ways to support people in the local community. We can provide listening and/or prayer, we can visit or provide practical help in times of difficulty.

‘Food and Fun’ for pre-school children and parents or carers, the Seniors lunch and the Community teas are just some of the ways that we do this.

If you, or someone you know is in need of prayer or practical help with something please contact Rev Rich Townend.

The parish of Felton: St Michael & All Angels is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
