What is Thy Kingdom Come all about? It’s about prayer. The idea of praying can seem daunting. Sometimes we make it far too complicated. It is chatting and listening to God just as you would with a good friend. We believe that when we pray with honesty, there’s no imagining what God can do with our prayers. There are people who really welcome someone praying for them, even if it’s not something they usually do. So why 10 days of prayer? In the days between Ascension and Pentecost, it has been the habit of many Christians, for many centuries, to have a focused time of prayers the same as those first believers. Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives... When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying... They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Acts 1:12-14 What’s going on? • Thursday, 14th May Ascension Day service - 7pm, Brinkburn Priory. Joint parish service.
