Church of England Diocese of Newcastle Belford

St Mary's, Belford

St Mary's is in the heart of the village of Belford.  We welcome visitors to our church throughout the year, and are always happy to see new faces in our congregation.  We are delighted that we can once again meet here for worship; at the moment this is limited to one Sunday in three as we share our Sunday Communion Service with all three churches in the Benefice. Zoom Evening Prayer takes place every Sunday at 6pm. Follow our Benefice on Facebook (Bamburgh, Belford & Lucker) to see what is happening, and email the Vicar, Louise, via the Contact page for more information.  The next service at St Mary's will be on Sunday 26th July at 10am.

The parish of Belford: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Compline, or Night Prayer, is a service of quietness and reflection at the end of the day. The name 'compline' comes from the Latin word 'complementium', meaning 'completion'.
