Music for your wedding

The Church of St Peter and St Paul has been the venue for countless weddings throughout the centuries, and as a result it has a real sense of history. It benefits from very good acoustics and a fine two-manual pipe organ which sounds effective whether used for a quiet, reflective piece such as César Franck’s “Panis angelicus” or an extremely vibrant movement like Widor’s famous Toccata. The Director of Music and Organist is highly qualified and will be very happy to assist you in your choice of music for your wedding. A list of suggested music can be found here, but you are equally welcome to choose music not included on the list. Every effort will be made to accommodate your requests. The church choir is normally available to sing for weddings. The choir can make a significant contribution in hymn singing, and this is particularly important if you are worried that some of your guests might be shy about singing. You might also like the choir to sing a choral piece, such as Bach’s “Jesu, joy of man’s desiring” or John Rutter’s “The Lord bless you and keep you”. The normal position for this music is during the Signing of the Register.  Do contact Dr Liz Le Grove, Director of Music and Organist, if you would like further information, or to discuss your specific requirements, on 07908 567812; email: [email protected] .
