Picnic in the Negus Field to hear the Quarter Peal being rung from the church tower
Whether ringing a peal or quarter peal, the ringers must start the method in rounds. The conductor will then call out the method to be rung. A full peal on eight bells must last at least 5000 different changes. A performance of 1250 changes on 8 bells makes a quarter peal. A peal might take about three hours to ring, and a quarter peal 45 minutes.

St Peter & St Paul

St Peter and St Paul has stood at the top of Hambledon's historic High Street since Saxon times.

We are part of a Benefice which includes the churches at Soberton and Newtown, with whom we share our vicar, Rev Liz Quinn.  We are also part of the wider Meon Valley Parishes (MVP), which brings together eight churches.

We are a friendly and active church for all ages and all members of the community.  We warmly welcome you to come along and find out more.

We have Sunday morning and evening services, and a short service on Wednesday mornings.

In 2026 we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Victorian renovations with events throughout the year; we hope to see you there!
