Welcome to St. Mary Magdalen

We were all new, at one time, and we remember what it's like. So we've provided the information below,
knowing that it's easier to venture into a new place when you know what to expect.

About us
St. Mary Magdalen dates back to 1868, when our church was consecrated, We are part of The Church of England,in the Diocese of Portsmouth. We share a group ministry with St. Peter's Petersfield & St Mary's Buriton.

Sunday Morning

About 100 people attend St. Mary Magdalen on Sunday mornings and we have a team of welcomers on hand to ensure all visitors feel welcome to our church.

Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The Vicar usually wears a robe, but you'll see people in the pews dressed in all styles - from jeans to business suits. St. Mary Magdalen offers worship that features traditional hymns and more modern songs, led by our choir or a music group.

Our services last from 40 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Our main 10am services feature a variety of worship styles, and on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month we share in Holy Communion. At 8am we have a shorter service of Holy Communion, from either the Book of Common Prayer or Common Worship.

After our 10am services we have coffee in Sheet Village Hall. If you need directions to the hall, ask a welcomer!

Children are welcome to attend our services, particulary on the 3rd Sunday of each month which is a service designed for young families. On the 1st Sunday of the month, children will start off in church, but move to the hall for their own separate activities part way through the service. On all other Sundays's children are welcome at Sheet Village Hall 9:45am for Kids' Church with or without parents.

During the week we have a number of Home Groups, which enable people to get together for fellowship, prayer and teaching.

Parking is available on the roads around the Church. When parking please consider other road users and the residents of Sheet. If you would like directions to the Church please click here

If you have any questions about our services etc, do feel free to ask a welcomer as you come in to church (They wear Welcomer name badges).

If you need to talk to someone after the service, we have trained listeners available at the front of the church, who are able to listen to you and or pray for you, after our 10am services on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sunday of the month.
