Church of England Diocese of Rochester Sevenoaks Weald

St George

Welcome to St. George's in the beautiful village of Weald.

We have services and events for all ages during this festive period and would love you to come and join with us.  We have a traditional 9 lessons and Carols service by candlelight on the 16th December at 6.30pm.  It is a beautiful way to get everyone in the Christmas mood, sing some classic carols and hear some great readings and our wonderful choir.

On Christmas Eve the excitement really builds.  3.30pm is the Christingle service which is always a lively occasion but still with that special Christmas magic when the lights are turned off, there is an amazing hush and only the Christingle candles light up the whole church.

Then straight after the service a number of us will begin the tour of all the 'Advent Windows' around the village.  These are windows in houses and businesses prepared each day in Advent and lit up in succession as we get closer to Christmas.  St. George's has hosted the first window 'O Come Let Us Adore Him' and so after then we'll go onto no. 2, then no. 3 etc... all around the community, singing Christmas songs and carols as we go and getting a bigger crowd as we travel round.  It's a great All-Age event that brings the community together and where visitors are welcome to join in.

Midnight Mass is at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve and then our Family Communion is at 10.30 on Christmas Day.

We'd love to have you come and join us to celebrate the coming of our Lord Jesus.

Explore the site as it has details of our regular pattern of service and what's on offer at St. George's.  Come along and you are sure to get a warm welcome.
