Queen Victoria who gave her name to her age. To her 'Victorians' she represented the ideal of womanhood: dutiful, motherly, caring and good. The Queen was instantly recognisable but Victorian women, including those from Ranmoor, were largely unseen, except by their families and friends. Even today Victoria remains a familiar figure, while the wives, widows and spinsters of Ranmoor have become all but invisible. How did they live? What were their concerns and their interests? How did they spend their time? Come along to the talk and meet some of Ranmoor's Victorian women.
