A massive Thank You! to everyone who has helped with the task of fixing and repairing our outside notice board.Thurcroft Veterans donated the perspex and paint, we got an excellent deal on the wood from Robert Birkbeck and Son - Timber Merchants in Thurcroft and the hinges came from our local hard ware shop V G Supplies.Thank you to Richard Waters for doing the work during June 2025
St Simon & St Jude's Parish Church was invited to The Willows School Community Boards Celebration at The Welfare Hall on Thursday May 8th 2025. Six Boards created by Post 16 students were on display highlighting the different places the students visit for their Community Learning.Our board has been donated to the church and will be on display for all to see.
Since early Spring we have had a leak in the kitchen ceiling.After a failed flat roof system caused more damage we have had a full new flat roof system fitted on the whole south aisle of the church with new 4mm underlays, a new 5mm charcoal sheet and new insulation during August and September 2024.We were awarded a grant of £10710 from the Minor Repairs Grant provided by the National Church to help with the cost. Thank you to Royal Roofing Solutions of Rotherham for doing a great job.
On Saturday 29th June 2024 Rev Louise McInnes was ordained Priest at Sheffield Cathedral.On Sunday 30th June 2024 Rev Dave Johnson was ordained Deacon at Sheffield Cathedral.Both will serve in the parishes of Saint Simon and St Jude Thurcroft and St Leonard’s Dinnington.
