On Saturday 29th June 2024 Rev Louise McInnes was ordained Priest at Sheffield Cathedral.On Sunday 30th June 2024 Rev Dave Johnson was ordained Deacon at Sheffield Cathedral.Both will serve in the parishes of Saint Simon and St Jude Thurcroft and St Leonard’s Dinnington.
All classes, in all year groups including the nursery from Thurcroft Junior Academy worked on a canvas which was put together and donated to Thurcroft Parish Church. The 12 canvasses created a collage - A master piece of Jesus. It was revealed to the pupils during their Easter Service in church on Maundy Thursday 28th March 2024
Thurcroft Big Local have purchased and dedicated a bench in memory of Rev Tim Leach who died on 9th January 2023.This was in recognition of all the hard work, help, support and advice he gave to our church and the village community after Tim and his wife Moira retired to Thurcroft in 2008. Rev Miranda Hayes blessed the bench in a beautiful little service on a glorious, yet utterly freezing day on Wednesday 29th November 2023, which was so moving. When you next walk by the bench, take a moment to sit and think of Tim as you take in the view of Thurcroft's Church.
At a service in Sheffield Cathedral on 2nd July 2023 Louise McInnes was ordained by the Bishop of Sheffield the Rt Rev Pete Wilcox.Rev Louise will be working alongside Rev Miranda Hayes as Curate of Thurcroft and Dinnington.
