Day of Prayer

Occurring
for 6 hours
Venue
St James'
Address
Cambridge Street Clifton Rotherham, S65 2SX, United Kingdom

St James’s will be open from 10am to 4pm for anyone to drop in and spend some time in prayer. Around the church you’ll find a series of prayer stations inspired by the Lord’s Prayer, offering different ways to reflect and engage. You’re welcome to move between them at your own pace or simply spend time with the one that speaks most to you.

From 10.30am to 12 noon, there will be children’s prayer activities in the St Francis Room—so if you’d like a moment of quiet prayer, you can bring the kids along too. They’ll be well looked after with creative activities while you take some time for yourself.

We’re also offering two simple but enriching prayer workshops during the day:

11am–12noon: Lectio Visio – a gentle and creative way of praying with images and scripture, allowing God to speak through both word and visual art.

2pm–3pm: The Examen – a reflective prayer practice that helps you look back over your day to notice where God has been at work, and to become more aware of his presence in everyday life.

Whether you come for five minutes or stay all day, there will be space for you to pause, pray, and be refreshed. Everyone is welcome.

A warm welcome to St James', Clifton.

St James' is an open, welcoming and inclusive church, serving the area of Clifton, East Dene and Eastwood. Our Church family is made up of young and old, a mix of all the diversity God gifted us. We hope you can find your place in our community.

Together we work to reach all those disadvantaged by life, to care for everyone in times of need, and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all those who want to listen.

We celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday's at 10.30am and on special occasions throughout the year. Please do pop in and meet us.

We look forward to getting to know you.
