On Wednesday 26 November, singer/songwriter Jennifer Bell will entertain the audience with haunting vocals accompanied by guitar and other instruments in Music for Dark Days. She is inspired by traditional folk songs and early music and was a member of the successful 80s folk band, Sherwood Rise, that made an LP of Robin Hood-related songs and tunes. Now, she performs solo, mostly her own material, but sometimes traditional songs that she has arranged or adapted. The performance is at 7.00 for 7.30pm. For tickets (£10), call 07500 043 842. Nibbles and soft drinks will be available but BYO wine or beer.
Then, in December, Paul O’Donnell stars in We’ve Got Each Other, described as an “almost entirely imagined Bon Jovi musical”. He has toured the UK, Spain, America, and Canada and won numerous awards for the performance. He will be at West Stockwith Parish Church on Thursday 4 December. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. For tickets (£13, students £10), call 07500 043 842. Nibbles and soft drinks will be available but BYO wine or beer.
