Baptisms at St Luke’s take place on set Sundays at 12.30pm. If you live in the parish or in another parish but have been attending regularly (twice monthly for six months and now consider St Luke's as your regular church family), please contact the Vicar (details on the Who’s Who tab) to discuss preparation for a Baptism, commitment to church life, Godparents requirements, and the next available date.
Children aged 12+ who attend regularly and have not been Christened can be prepared for Baptism and Confirmation - at a special service with the Bishop. These services happen annually and are hosted by different churches in Leeds Diocese. Baptism and confirmation involves group preparation with a parent present throughout for anyone under 18 years.
Please note that Baptism bookings can only be made by parents or legal guardians for children aged 0–17. We cannot accept Baptism booking applications from grandparents unless they are the child’s legal guardian.
Adult Baptisms are also welcome for those who attend St Luke’s regularly and the expectation is that adults making this commitment will follow up with Confirmation with the Bishop at the next suitable service and after enough time has been allowed for confirmation preparation.
