Churches Together in Cleckheaton

In January 2024 over 90 worshippers from 5 different local churches came together for a special service to mark the week of prayer for Christian unity.

The service was held at St Luke’s. The theme was “who is my neighbour”? The sermon reminded us of Jesus’ call to “go and do likewise” putting love in action as a way of life together in our community.

Pictured: local Methodist ministers including Rev Marian Olsen (centre), the chairperson of Churches Together in Cleckheaton and the vicar of Cleckheaton Benefice Rev Helen Chamberlain, who officiated and preached. One church member said, “it was such a joyful occasion to come together as one congregation and hear the volume of us singing as one.”

We look forward to our shared walk of witness together in Cleckheaton followed by an open air service on Good Friday.
