Palm Sunday is celebrated one week before Easter Day. It marks the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, while the crowds waved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna!" Palm branches were widely associated with victory and triumph during this time. People also laid their cloaks on the ground, a sign of respect and honour for someone of great importance.
To mark this, we will have a short procession from the top of Church Lane in to church, all are welcome to join the procession. Or you can simply come in to church and wait for the procession to arrive.
Palm Crosses will be given as you come in to the church and will be blessed by the priest for you, these re taken home.
