Littleton's Posada

Every December, Mary, Joseph, Donkey and a flock of sheep (all knitted, thankfully!) make their way around the village, spending a night at each family's house. They have had many adventures over the years, going ice skating, Christmas shopping, and to numerous carol concerts and nativity plays, but sometimes they just enjoy a quiet night in.

The Posada starts with a service in church at 10am on 7th December, and returns for the Crib Service at 4pm on Christmas Eve. All are welcome to these services, whether hosting or not.

The Posada is based on a Latin American custom, and is a wonderful way to stop and remember the true meaning of Christmas, in amongst all the hustle and bustle. It is also an opportunity to raise much needed funds for street children in Latin America and other areas of the world, as hosting families are invited to contribute towards our Posada appeal for the charity Toybox.

If you would like to take part, please email [email protected] for more details. The Posada is particularly suited to those with young children, but all are welcome to join in.
