A small coach will be leaving St Ambrose Church at 9:00 a.m. for our Richborough Chrism Mass which, this year, will take place in Guildford Cathedral at noon. The Bishop of Richborough will preside and Fr Adrian will be among the concelebrating priests. There is a Cathedral Refectory, or you may prefer to bring a packed lunch.
During the Mass, the following Holy Oils are consecrated or blessed:
• Chrism – used in the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders, as well as for the consecration of altars and the dedication of churches;
• the Oil of Catechumens (formerly known as the Oil of Exorcism)– also used in the sacrament of Baptism; and
• the Oil of the Sick – used only in the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

The Bishop writes: "It is also vital that we bring as many of our faithful as possible to these regional Chrism masses. There will be hospitality after each mass. These are opportunities for us to gather together in dignified and reverent celebration of the liturgy, manifesting our common life and witness to the fulness of the Catholic faith and sacramental communion."
All are welcome. If you wish to book a place on the coach (£20, limited seating available), please add your name to the list in church or contact Michael Lloyd in person.
