A well-established and popular service at St Ambrose, especially with visitors, this is the First Mass of Christmas. The service starts in a darkened, candle-lit church in which the crib scene and Christmas tree shine out. It sees the the Christ Child laid in the manger and the Advent Wreath is completed with the lighting of the central candle - representing the Light that come into the world. Frankincense is used in the thurible and we sing familiar Christmas carols. The service lasts about an hour.
