Recognising that some people do not wish to come to church in current circumstances, while to others being able to attend services in person is very important, we have amended the service pattern for the rest of January and February. These changes hopefully offer something to those who want to attend and those who would rather watch online. Where the main Sunday service is Morning Prayer (second and fourth Sundays), that will be a streamed service with live congregation. On the first and third Sundays there will be a Eucharist at 10.30am for personal attendance, plus a streamed Evening Prayer at 5pm. This is set out by date below. Revd Phil Bradford will continue to circulate the link for the streamed services the day before, so those not on the e-mail distribution list will need to contact him to be added. Sadly, the 10am Eucharist at St John’s on a Tuesday will be suspended until further notice. The 10.30am at St Michael’s on a Thursday will continue. Please note that this plan may have to change if regulations change, and we will review the situation towards the end of February. Sunday 17 January 10.30am Eucharist 5pm Streamed Evening Prayer [online only] Sunday 24 January 10.30am Morning Prayer (streamed with congregation) Sunday 31 January 10.00am Group Eucharist Sunday 7 February 10.30am Eucharist 5pm Streamed Evening Prayer [online only] Sunday 14 February 10.30am Morning Prayer (streamed with congregation) Wednesday 17 February (Ash Wednesday) 7.30pm Eucharist Sunday 21 February 10.30am Eucharist 5pm Streamed Evening Prayer [online only] Sunday 28 February 10.30am Morning Prayer (streamed with congregation)
Following a Risk Assessment, it was decided that we could provide a socially distanced Carol Service and then we just had the weather to worry about. Despite rain at lunch time the weather cleared, and we were able to go ahead with the service.Details of the service and pictures from it can be found here:
During our morning Eucharist today, 20th December, we were treated to the Nativity, or part of it, by the Children's church members. It was absolutely wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed by all in Church. Well done to all involved. The image shows the main cast, playing Mary and Joseph with the Angel and a shepherd and the 2 narrators in the background.
