Hedgehogs are struggling in the UK, but our gardens can offer them a lifeline.  A few small actions make a big difference: create safe routes between gardens, leave a wild corner for shelter, and check carefully before strimming or lighting bonfires.  Fresh water and suitable food help them thrive, and avoiding chemicals protects the insects they rely on.  Add a small ramp to ponds to prevent accidents.  If you can, build a hedgehog home. It all helps.
