Collect for 3 rd Sunday after Trinity
Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought to the
glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

This simple but lovely 700 years old church is now
maintained by the Churches Conservation Trust but
was the estate church for the Berkeley family who
have owned Spetchley Park since 1606. The church
contains some stunning monuments particularly the
one depicting Sir Rowland Berkeley, who died in 1611,
shown together with his wife Katherine, under an
arched canopy.
Please park in the Visitors’ car park and you will be
met and taken to the church. Please leave time for the
walk to All Saints! For more information please ring
Heather Lewis on 01905 345731.
Aren’t children amazing!......a thank you
Thank you so much to everyone who supported and
sponsored Chloe and Sidney.
They have raised an amazing £1015 (plus £200 gift
aid) for The Little Princess Trust based in the next-
door county of Herefordshire.
The children had their hair cut last Saturday which
was the first time in three years. The hair, which has
to be at least 12inches in length to be useful, plus the
money raised will be sent to the Trust to make wigs
for children and young people who have lost their
own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.
Thank you again for your support.

Summer is a time for holidays and opportunities to
take time out to think and reflect on life and the
universe.
To contemplate not only the evils constantly raging on
every side but also to think about the deep and
meaningful things which make every-day life such a
joy to live.
There is nothing much better than sitting in a shady
garden listening to the bees and contentedly letting
nature just get on with ‘being’ around you.
Over the next few weeks, I hope to offer the odd
thought or idea, or phrase which has resonated
somewhere in me at some time or other.
It will be a random mish-mash of something and
nothing I suspect, but occasionally maybe something
will touch you and perhaps make you think you too –
well that is my hope.
We all strive in our lives for ‘something’ – different
‘somethings’ for each of us of course, different ways
to be and grow – but this first little offering comes
from Michelle Obama in her book Becoming.
She writes:
….It’s all a process, steps along a path.
Becoming requires equal parts patience and rigour.
Becoming is never giving up on the idea that there’s
more growing to be done…...

The school holidays will be here very soon. A difficult
time for some parent struggling to feed, clothe and
look after their children, so donations to the various
food banks are as important now as in the cold winter
months. Please do pop items in the collection boxes in
The Pantry and St Nicholas Church, both in Peopleton
or at the collection points available in most
supermarkets.
To be what we are, and to become what we are
capable of becoming, is the only end of life.
