Bishop will baptise and confirm - July 20th

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Mary's
Address
Clensmore Street Kidderminster, DY10 2JN, United Kingdom

On Sunday July 20th our 11 am service will be led by one of the Assistant Bishops of the diocese: Bishop Anne Hollinghurst. In this service she will baptise two people from St Mary's, and also confirm people from St Mary's, from Wribbenhall and our neighbouring parish Kidderminster West.

Confirmation is when people who have been baptised (in recent times or years ago) wish to "confirm" what was done at their baptism, and "confirm" for themselves what was said on their behalf. The Bishop confirms them by laying a hand on them, anointing their forehead with blessed oil, and praying for the Holy Spirit of God to be present in them. This act is also confirming the love and grace of God towards them.

Baptism and confirmation are significant moments in a person's Christian journey.
All are welcome to come and share in this service.

St Mary's

St Mary's is the historic Parish Church of Kidderminster.  It is the beautiful place where our church members and visitors gather every Sunday to offer praise and prayers to God, and to be refreshed and equipped to live out our Christian life in the week ahead.  Because of its place in the history of Kidderminster we are often the location for civic services for the whole town - most notably on Remembrance Sunday each year.  We welcome anyone who wants to join us for worship or our other activities, or to step into the beauty of the building - a place where God's presence can bring calm and stillness in the hectic rush of life.

Our Sunday worship is traditional with a robed choir and hymns accompanied by the organ. Families and children are welcome .

The church is a historic building.  From April to the end of September we welcome visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays  (from 11 am to 3 pm) who come to explore this building where prayer has been offered for centuries.   Check our "St Mary's Open Church" item on the next page to check dates.

We exist to honour God and proclaim the Gospel, to nourish followers of Jesus Chist and to serve the community.   We are part of a Local Ecumenical Partnership with Trinity Methodist and a member of Churches Together in Kidderminster supporting the Foodbank and Street Pastors in the town.
