The coming of Jesus Christ changed the world and many people still today discover the difference he makes to their own lives.
Christmas is the festival when we mark the birth of Jesus, and celebrate the fact that in Jesus God has come among us.
Join us as we celebrate and give thanks for this priceless gift.
December 24th: On CHRISTMAS EVE AT 3 pm we have our Crib service - short, informal, Ideal for young children. Together we make the journey to Bethlehem, and with our carols and our crib figures prepare for the birth of Jesus.
We explain the symbolism of the Christingle (the orange with a red ribbon as a holder for a candle). We light them at the service, and then children can take them home afterwards.
LATER ON CHRISTMAS EVE we have our Midnight Communon - actually starting at 11.30 pm. This is the service in which we receive the consecrated Bread and Wine, which are themselves symbols of Jesus coming to us. One Christmas carol says "It came upon a midnight clear" - and at midnight we are welcoming the Christchild in our service
December 25th: On CHRISTMAS DAY itself we have our Christmas Morning Communion at 10 am - again the service when we receive the Bread and Wine. As we receive these, we pray that we may receive God afresh, now and into the future.
“O come let us adore him, Christ the Lord…..”
If you are not sure about receiving the Bread and Wine of Communion - still come and receive a simple blessing.
Then on Sunday 28th we resume our normal service pattern with out 11 am Eucharist.
We invite you to join us at this great Festival.
