St Nicholas' Service

This is our Patronal festival (St Nicholas' Day itself is on 6th December). In memory of the stories surrounding St Nicholas as a giver of gifts (Santa Claus), we aim to ensure that children who might otherwise not get presents at Christmas do so. We do this by asking all our parishioners to bring or leave suitable gifts to be distributed by the Salvation Army based at Malton. Gifts may be left in the church porch (they will be put in a safe place on a daily basis). Following the service we shall be turning on our flood lights ready to celebrate Advent and the Christmas period and to bring light in the darkest months of the year.

Village Christmas Carol Service

Continuing the long-established tradition in Husthwaite - until recently in the Methodist Church now closed - we now meet at St Nicholas' Church for a service of Carols looking forward to the birth of Christ. The format changes slightly each year but will include favorite carols as well as readings. And, of course, there will be warming refreshments afterwards.
