Family Fun Day

Join us on Saturday 5th September, 1–4 PM, for a free Family Fun Day in the beautiful Heslington Church grounds. It’s a mini‑festival filled with nature, creativity, and activities for all ages.

Enjoy The Nature Stage, The Cardboard Caricature Stall, and Self‑Led Forest Adventures . There will be a bake sale and refreshments and a range of fun competitions — bring along your entry for the best homemade bug hotel, best flower posy in a jam jar, or best cupcake decoration .

All proceeds support Forest Church equipment and sessions. All Are Welcome.

Little Shoots meets every Wednesday in term‑time from 2–3 PM, offering a gentle Forest School session especially for pre‑schoolers. Led by a certified Level 3 Forest School Leader from Meadow & Oak Forest School, children explore nature, mindfulness, and play in the beautiful church grounds.

These sessions are relaxed, hands‑on, and perfect for little ones discovering the outdoors. All Are Welcome.

Storytime

Storytime takes place on the last Sunday of the month during the service and is for children under 7. It’s a chance for children to gather in our dedicated children’s room, hear a story, and respond through crafts, activities, and play.

There is also a space at the back of church with toys and crafts for any children who prefer to stay in the main worship area.

Student Evening Service

Held on Tuesday evenings during university term‑time, this service is offered in partnership with the University Chaplaincy and is open to all. The pattern varies week by week and may include BCP Evening Prayer led by students, Methodist Communion, or Anglican Communion.

The service is simple and reflective, usually including two unaccompanied hymns, and offers a peaceful space for worship, prayer, and community.
