Church of England Diocese of York Brayton

About Us

The Church of St Francis of Assisi Thorpe Willoughby is the only church in the village and is an Anglican and Methodist partnership that welcomes everyone. We are a thriving community who meet regularly to worship, pray and support each other. Sunday worship is at 10.30 am and we offer a variety of services including Holy Communion, Celtic Communion and Methodist led worship.

There are a range of community activities each week including gentle movement exercise sessions and craft groups. Our church is used regularly by the over 55 group, WI and the Parish Council. Our church family offer messy church, regular coffee mornings and a range of other fundraising/social activities. Further details can be found in the Thorpe Willoughby News.

Our vision for 2020 is to progress the church redevelopment project which will offer a new church hall, with improvements to our facilities. We have a set of ambitious but achievable plans that will ensure we have more scope to become an even greater community resource. We would love to hear your thoughts and have a short on line questionnaire that you can access here. The results will be used to help us provide evidence of the local community needs as we make applications for future funding.
