Last year we had some internal ceiling plaster fall. We commissioned a survey which showed the whole of the church ceiling was unsafe. As a result we had to close for several months. With the help of York Diocese and our Archdeacon we have been able to install netting to make the church safe whilst we plan the way ahead and start to raise the funds to help us repair and and protect this beautiful and ancient church. 

We are now open 24/7 and there is access from the B1248 or by a track through the woods off Station Road (on the Wolds Way) in Wharram le Street. We are a Pilgrim Place so there are things to read and to look at as well as the chance to make use of the self serve tea and coffee whilst you enjoy the peace of the church. .
