Venue
Buxhall, St Mary
Address
Brettenham Road Buxhall Stowmarket, IP14 3DJ, United Kingdom

Plough Sunday is the traditional English celebration of the beginning of the agricultural year. Celebrations involve bringing a ploughshare into a church with prayers for the blessing of the land. It is traditionally held on the Sunday after Epiphany and, accordingly, work in the fields did not begin until the day after Plough Sunday: Plough Monday. Although the nature of farming has changed over the centuries, Plough Sunday is still seen as a way of celebrating farming and the work of farmers. Come and join us - bring your tractor!

Buxhall, St Mary

St Mary's is a large 14th Century building, prominent on the landscape in rural Suffolk. It is one of seven churches within the Combs and Finborough Group comprising churches in Combs Great and Little Finborough, Buxhall, OnehouseHarleston Shelland. We worship in the church two, sometimes three times each month, offering a variety of services including special events such as Harvest Festival and Remembrance; for details please refer to the benefice rota of services published each month in the News and Notices section of this web page. We welcome guests and visitors everyday throughout the year.</span>

The parish of Buxhall: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of St.Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
