Church of England Diocese of Sheffield St. Matthew, Sheffield

St Matthew's Carver Street Sheffield

Founded in 1855, we seek to be a place of sanctuary in the midst of the busy city of Sheffield. We are a Church in the Anglo Catholic Tradition under the Episcopal care of the Bishop of Beverley.

Solemn Mass is held at 11am and a Said Mass at 6pm every Sunday. Said Mass is held daily Monday to Saturday. Full details can be found on the Calendar of Events page and on the Weekly Notice Sheet. The Church is open daily for private prayer.

The Parish of Sheffield: St Matthew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers, PSOs. The Diocese of Sheffield's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.If you have concerns that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adult Services.
