Getting here

The village of Barton Mills is located on the south bank of the River Lark near the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Originally known as Barton Parva or Little Barton, Barton Mills appears in the Domesday Book (1086) as having a population of 24. Today we have a population of around 900.

We have lots of activities throughout the year in Barton Mills, from concerts to quiz nights to lantern processions to our famous Scarecrow Festival! Even on 'quiet' days we have a Heritage Walk as well as the beautiful path along the River Lark, plus there are two village pubs you can drop into for a drink afterwards.

We'd especially like to invite you to visit St. Mary's. The church is open every day of the year, not just for services, and you'd be most welcome!
