Safeguarding

The parish of Hargrave: St Edmund is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Jill Upton.

March 2021 - The members of the PCC of St Edmund Church, Hargrave are renewing their Basic Safeguarding training in accordance with Church of England guidelines.

Our Churchwardens, Jill Upton and Justin Rabett, have also completed the Foundation level and are in the process of completing the Leadership level.

Our aim is that this will help us to ensure our practices of worship are carried out in a safe and welcoming environment as well as at any organised events run by the PCC of St Edmund.

If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to one of our Churchwardens and know that any information will be treated sensitively and action will be taken following current procedures.

The Diocese of St.Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults
